Only Blues Can Save a Shitty Day Like This

Don’t know what it is exactly. Lots of things are going well. God is still in Control. Gas is $1.60 a gallon here. Loved Ones are happy. But something just ain’t right. Maybe it’s just that work blows and I’ve been at it for far too long. Maybe it’s the weight of far too many disappointments, betrayals and frustrations lately. Maybe it’s the crush of civilization collapsing around us and the would-be Emperor come to tell us how much we should love it. Maybe it’s just that time of year, since experts label yesterday, January 19th, the bluest day of the year. Maybe it’s just another day under the thumbs of the most retarded group of people the world has ever known, American Progressives, who all still think they’re in charge and in control, and their smugness is enough to kill the joy of the angels. Whatever it is, I have only one cure today, and KWS tells me it won’t help, but I want it anyway.

And one more, because this is the real message that Joni Ernst needs to deliver after Barack’s speech tonight.

I totally understand how you feel. Some days are shittier than others and sometimes those days can become shitty months. It gets hard to put a smile on one’s face when there’s so much…injustice, betrayal, hatred, stupidity, idiots, etc…in the world. You’re right about progressive smugness. Ugh. We’re surrounded by so much of it.

Love your musical selection of Kenny Wayne Shepherd, especially “Everything is Broken”. That song is worth cranking up the volume!

Here are my go-to songs for days like these:

Another great song below. (This was supposed to be the first song released from Third Day’s new album scheduled to hit stores in March. The video for it was posted on their website but for some reason it has been pulled, probably because they changed their minds about which song would be the official first release. There’s still one for the song floating around on Youtube, but with Spanish subtitles.) Anyway, enjoy!

Here’s another song that might help. One day I hope that the band at my church will perform this song. It’s beautiful. My favorite line: “Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can’t heal.”

My youngest sister and her husband are friends with David Crowder. He’s a super-duper funny and nice guy.

    • Love it! Well, you did it, Freedom. I’m all cheered up! Thanks for being a good friend.

Is the weather holding up there on the York river? I just noticed that it’s supposed to get up to 50 or so tomorrow, so that’s good. We got snow today, but it’s the good kind that mostly takes care of itself. Have a great week!

Honestly, I meant to stop at the Third Day song but I’ve been wanting to post that awesome Crowder song somewhere! šŸ˜‰ Glad that you’re cheered up. šŸ™‚

I read over at PN that you’re going to see Sol? Next time you talk to him tell him Happy Birthday and that I think about him a lot. Glad to hear that he’s doing better.

The weather’s a little chillier than 50 today but it’s better than the freezing temps and all the ice we had last week.

      • Will do, Freedom! I’ll let him know. He always says that your thoughts and prayers (and those of the other bloggers at the various sites) have had a huge impact on keeping him positive this last year. And he credits them for the physical and spiritual healing as well. I’m just amazed that he’s doing so well, and I wish you all could hear some of his stories. Maybe I’ll convince him to write about some of them, but I need to get Bob over on PN to put up some more masculine pictures before we can lure him over there!
