Didn’t Need Any New Reasons to Hate Quentin Tarantino, But He’s Generous That Way

Lane Brown, of Vulture.com, just interviewed the man behind the legendary Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction movies, among others. It was the usual Hollywood press pre-release interview, except for Tarantino’s inexplicable admission that he doesn’t know what he’s doing and his new project is pretty much too shitty to release. No, I won’t even mention the title. But my favorite part was the question about Barack Obama, because, you know, Tarantino is on record as being a supporter – something one would imagine he’d have second thoughts about, if he were sane. But no:

I think he’s fantastic. He’s my favorite president, hands down, of my lifetime. He’s been awesome this past year. Especially the rapid, one-after-another-after-another-after-another aspect of it. It’s almost like take no prisoners. His he-doesn’t-give-a-shit attitude has just been so cool. Everyone always talks about these lame-duck presidents. I’ve never seen anybody end with this kind of ending. All the people who supported him along the way that questioned this or that and the other? All of their questions are being answered now.

Really, Quentin? And what part of Barack’s latest actions has you so pumped? The sheer number of holes of golf he’s managed to squeeze in? The psychotic and unilateral carte blanche he offered Iran, the premier terrorist state in the world? The international laughingstock he’s made us? The economic chaos he’s produced? The fact that he took an effectively post-racial country and brought us to full-blown race war in just 6 years?

Reading other public comments by Mr. Tarantino that are getting a lot of attention, it’s obvious that it’s the race war that has him so excited. See Greenfield, for example, for more praise of Obama’s dismantling of “white supremacy” in America. In Tarantino’s twisted little world, the most important thing for a President to do is to make sure that White People get what’s coming to them. Whatever that means. Strange as it is, I agree with him about what Barack Obama’s primary goal is. The difference between us is that it terrifies me that our leader is such a sociopath. It just makes Tarantino giddy. That makes him just as much a sociopath as Obama.

But after a load of success, Tarantino is finally getting the message that the rest of America is not always down with his demented little voyage of insanity.

But I learned a big lesson with Grindhouse, and I try not to repeat the mistake. Robert Rodriguez and I had gotten used to going our own way, on these weird roads, and having the audience come along. We’d started thinking they’d go wherever we wanted. With Grindhouse, that proved not to be the case. It was still worth doing, but it would have been better if we weren’t caught so unaware by how uninterested people were.

Trust me, Quentin, you didn’t learn a big enough lesson there.

What do you expect? He’s a pervert who’s mind never strays very far from his penis.

    • True, Gladys, but if that were all that was wrong with Mr. T, then he’d me much less treacherous, IMO. Like most Hollywood folks, he can’t help but pretend he knows something about what’s best for the rest of us.

  2. Adrienne says:

Obama is a sociopath who is completely controlled by his handlers. He goes where they want him to go, and says what they want him to say. He’s a sock puppet extraordinaire.

This needs to stop. I hope it happens before I die. In any case, I’ll die a free man.
