Funny thing about crazy people is that they have a knack for recognizing God’s very most beautiful gifts. You find them living in the most gorgeous places (sometimes under bridges of the finest architecture), driving cars of the most inspired design, living under restraining orders from the most beautiful women on the planet, and they listen to the very most interesting music.
But ultimately crazy people obsess over all those things and ruin their own lives and those of the people around them 3 or 4 levels deep. So the trick is to pay attention to them from a distance while you go about doing the Lord’s Work, hanging out with your only-partly-crazy friends, coaching your kids’ baseball team and building that gazebo your wife wants. And then, when it’s time to play, you’ll know how to keep your bored woman guessing – and maybe terrified a little – about how you know this shit.
These two performances by fine musicians, like Tito & Tarantula above and Slash below, have something in common. They were both featured in dark, kinda obscure Quentin Tarantino films around 1996. I don’t really recommend the films. Quentin is one of those psychos you probably don’t want to party out on a yacht with. I don’t even like to think about what goes on inside his potato-shaped head. But some of the music in those films was insanely good.
