David Horowitz [Breitbart] – I don’t think I speak for myself alone when I confess utter bewilderment at the number of conservatives – among whom I count long-term friends – who seem to have lost their marbles when assessing the presidential candidacy of Donald Trump.
Though Horowitz still respects the intellect of his wayward friends, I find that I cannot. These intellectuals, these men and women in conservative think tanks and university staffs and magazine bull pens, have one job. Their job it is to be right every now and then. They are actually paid to do their homework, and to know what we do not, and conclude what is best and so lead us into truth. Yet, they have, in fact, done the opposite, though they have had every chance to do otherwise. Curse them, they have done only what a child could do and less. Even a child is led, more often than not, by his heart, and so sees what God sees and in humility recognizes reality. Though, reality often seems indifferent to the intellects of men.
