I learned “tinker’s dam” as a kid from a neighbor lady who told me all about it after a Little House On The Prairie episode aired on TV featuring Laura’s friend Tinker who made things from metal (cuz he was a Tinker). Proper spelling and usage can save a girl from getting spanked for profanity. 😉
